Push Pilates is a woman-owned, high-energy reformer Pilates studio brand founded by Anna and operating across four locations in Athens, GA (Baxter Street and W Broad), Tuscaloosa, AL, and Tallahassee, FL. The brand is built around a singular, electric atmosphere — dark studio interiors bathed in magenta neon, music loud enough to push you harder, and an unapologetically bold visual identity centred on the PUSH wordmark and lightning bolt motif. Neon Studio has designed and fabricated the complete custom neon signage system for Push Pilates across all four studio locations — a six-year partnership built on a shared understanding that the right signage doesn't just mark a space. It creates one. The brief was to develop a repeatable, scalable signage system that could be deployed consistently across every location as the brand grew — delivering the same electric first impression whether a member walks into the original Athens studio or the newest Tallahassee location.

Across four studio locations — two in Athens, one in Tuscaloosa, one in Tallahassee — the Push Pilates signage system delivers a consistent, electric brand environment that members recognise instantly wherever they train. The ceiling installations have become iconic to the Push Pilates identity. The brand's Instagram feed is built, in large part, around photography and video shot in the studio environment — and the neon bolts appear in virtually every post, reel, and campaign. The signage isn't background to the brand. It is the brand.

Boutique fitness studios are one of the most signage-intensive environments we work in — not because they need more signs, but because the signage has to do more. It needs to create atmosphere, reinforce brand identity, drive social content, and scale consistently across multiple locations.
Ceiling-suspended neon as a spatial design element.
Most neon signs are wall-mounted. Suspending them from the ceiling — at 8–10 feet, floating above the entire studio floor — transforms a sign into an architectural installation. At Push Pilates, the ceiling bolts create a sense of being inside the brand, not just looking at it. For fitness studios with high ceilings and large open floor plans, this approach is almost always underutilised.
RGB LED neon for multi-use spaces.
Where a single fixed colour works for most retail or wellness signage, fitness studios host different class formats, events, and activations that benefit from dynamic lighting. RGB LED neon mounted on black acrylic allows the bolts to shift colour across the full spectrum — running in Push's signature magenta for standard classes and adjusting for special events, seasonal content, or brand campaigns. It's versatility built into the fabrication.
Signage as social content infrastructure.
Push Pilates built a significant social media presence on content shot inside the studio — and the neon signage is central to almost every piece of that content. The ceiling bolts create a distinctive visual signature that makes Push content immediately recognisable in a feed. The reception sign provides a professional brand backdrop. The glute icon in the hallway generates its own organic photography. When we design custom fitness studio signage, we always consider the content it will enable — because for most boutique studios, that content is their primary marketing channel.
Building a franchise signage system.
For brands operating across multiple locations — or planning to — the value of a documented, repeatable signage system cannot be overstated.
